This charrette was a collaborative effort between the Institute without Boundaries and L’Institut Idée.
The charrette – which took place in June, 2014 – explored key themes that were established as a result of the Structural Mapping Process™ (SMP) session that took place at the Spoke Club as part of their 10th anniversary celebrations. Inspired by the starting points, pathways and meme from the April 1st map, we engaged city leaders from a broad spectrum of disciplines to develop tangible ideas, strategies and projects that brought to life the desired outcome of “Toronto is one of the world’s great cities”. The five central themes explored during the charrette process included; Encouraging City Openness, Embracing Organic Evolution, Fostering Originality, Nurturing Citizens, and Attracting Talent.
As a core member of the charrette team, I was responsible for the development of the charrette brief, coordination of charrette planning & participant engagement, and also lead one of the five charrette teams.
