Chicago Charrette

Working in partnership with CannonDesign, the City of Chicago and Illinois Institute of Technology, I was part of a team at the IwB responsible for the implementation and facilitation of a charrette that was titled ‘Activating Resilient Communities’. The charrette was intended to leverage existing initiatives in south Chicago neighbourhoods (Englewood, West Englewood, Woodlawn & Washington Park) to develop proposals centred around five key themes that align with the ‘Green Healthy Neighbourhoods 2020 Strategy’ that was recently published by the City. The charrette included students from the Institute without Boundaries, Illinois Institute of Technology and Politecnico di Milano, as well as advisors from CannonDesign, Chicago Architecture Foundation, and the City of Chicago.

In addition to contributing to the development of charrette topics, I was also a key faculty advisor for one of the charrette teams and assisted with planning and logistics.
